5 Tips For Intuitive Eating

  1. Eat when you’re hungry (in some individuals, these hormones may be out of balance and this may cause hunger all the time - however, it’s possible to bring them back into balance)
  2. Stop when you’re full (in some individuals, these hormones may be out of balance and it may take longer to feel “full,” however, it’s possible to bring them back into balance)
  3. Take time to see how you feel after you’ve eaten specific foods. Do they make you feel tired? Do they energize you? Do they cause indigestion, gas or bloating?
  4. Eat when you are calm, and try not to eat on the go as this can cause stress in the body and slow down digestion and nutrient absorption.
  5. If you are eating when you aren’t hungry, ask yourself why you’re eating. Start a dialogue with yourself to help you understand exactly what is triggering you to eat.
